Do you have any questions regarding our Daily Highland Bus? You might find the answer here!
If not, please don’t hesitate to drop us a line – firstname.lastname@example.org.
We recommend that you do, since we can only guarantee a seat on the bus for those who already booked with us.
The buses tend to get full, and when they do we unfortunately can not provide transportation for those who haven‘t already booked.
Yes. You can simply show up at one of our pick-up points and speak to our staff. If there are available seats you can purchase tickets on the bus, but please note that we only accept credit cards.
You can take another bus with us, free of charge.
Either send us an email to email@example.com and tell us when you wish to take the bus, or just show up at departure time and ask the staff on the bus if there are available seats for you.
We are very flexible regarding any alterations you might want us to do on your booking.
Please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 24 hours prior to departure and we will take care of it.
No. Unfortunetely, we don‘t have a bus going between Þórsmörk and Landmannalaugar.
If you plan on driving to Landmannalaugar, walking to Þórsmörk, and then going back to Landmannalaugar to pick up the car – we would advice against that.
What we recommend doing instead is either taking the bus all the way from Reykjavík, or leaving your car in a town on the south coast called Hella and taking our scheduled bus from there to Landmannalaugar.
For the return you could go from Þórsmörk to Hella to pick up the car.
There is no charge for leaving your car at the bus stop in Hella.
Here you can book transfer from Hella to Landmannalaugar: https://trex.is/tour/landmannalaugar/
Here you can book transfer from Þórsmörk to Hella: https://trex.is/tour/thorsmork/
No. Unfortunetely we don‘t have a bus going straight from Þórsmörk to Skógar.
If you plan on walking the Fimmvörðuháls hike from Skógar to Þórsmörk, we recommend leaving your car at a town on the south coast called Hvolsvöllur.
From there you can take a bus with our colleagues at Sterna Travel to Skógar. You are scheduled to be in Skógar at 11:00.
Here you can book your transfer from Hvolsvöllur to Skógar: https://icelandbybus.is/summer-bus-schedules/1212a-reykjavik-vik-hofn-2
Once in Þórsmörk, you can take our bus back to Hvolsvöllur and pick up your car, either at 18:00 the same day or take the bus the next day and stay for the night in Þórsmörk.

We have three pick up points in Reykjavík for these transfers:
07:30 / 12:30 – The City Hall in downtown Reykjavík
07:45 / 12:45 – The campsite in Laugardalur
08:00 / 13:00 – Miklabraut South, by Orkan X gas station next to Kringlan
We are scheduled to start going there on the 15th of June 2020.
In our experience usually the snow on the road has already melted by then.
However, there is a small possibility that the road won‘t be open yet, in which case we would have to cancel the trip.
We would of course be offering those who had already booked their tickets a couple of alternatives:
– Reschedule, and take our bus to Landmannalaugar on another day instead,
– Reschedule, and take our bus to Þórsmörk instead,
– Get a full refund.
On the 15th of June 2020.
On the 10th of September 2020.
If there is available space in the luggage compartments, our buses are able to carry bicycles. How ever this is something we can not guarantee in advance.
Usually when the buses are full of passengers the luggage compartments are also full, and in those cases we can unfortunately not provide transportation of bicycles.

Landmannalaugar: No. Unfortunately, Landmannalaugar do not offer storage.
Þórsmörk: Yes. We provide transportation of packages to both Básar and Langidalur, but only for those travelling with us. This service is included in the ticket price. You can either bring your luggage to our office, Hestháls 10 – 110 Reykjavík, and we store it for you while you do the hike. You would then need to pick it up at our office during office hours (between 08:10 and 15:50 on weekdays). Note that our office is closed on weekends.
Or you can use a luggage storage service like this one: http://www.luggagelockers.is/
At the parking lot by Hotel Leirubakki – street address: Leirubakki, 851 Hella.
This area is not very big, so once you are there you won’t be able to miss where the pick up point is.
