No. Unfortunetely, we don‘t have a bus going between Þórsmörk and Landmannalaugar.

If you plan on driving to Landmannalaugar, walking to Þórsmörk, and then going back to Landmannalaugar to pick up the car – we would advice against that.

What we recommend doing instead is either taking the bus all the way from Reykjavík, or leaving your car in a town on the south coast called Hella and taking our scheduled bus from there to Landmannalaugar.

For the return you could go from Þórsmörk to Hella to pick up the car. There is no charge for leaving your car at the bus stop in Hella.

Here you can book transfer from Hella to Landmannalaugar: https://trex.is/tour/landmannalaugar/

We are scheduled to start going to Landmannalaugar on the 20th of June 2025.

In our experience usually the snow on the road has already melted by then.

However, there is a small possibility that the road won‘t be open yet, in which case we would have to cancel the trip.

We would of course be offering those who had already booked their tickets a couple of alternatives:
– Reschedule, and take our bus to Landmannalaugar on another day instead,
– Reschedule, and take our bus to Þórsmörk instead,
– Get a full refund

On the 22nd of June 2025.

We offer full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours prior to departure. Simply click on “Manage my booking” on your ticket confirmation email and cancel your reservation with ease!

We offer children under 16 years old 20% discount of one way tickets. Choose  Þórsmörk og Landmannalaugar under Tours and select your dates.

At the parking lot in front of the Hotel. Look for the sign!

This area is not very big, so once you are there you won’t be able to miss where the pick up point is.

Our buses do not stop at Seljalandsfoss on their way to or from Þórsmörk. We moved the stop to Hvolsvöllur, which is only a 15min drive from Seljalandsfoss because there they offer free parking.

The bus to and from Skógar is operated by our colleagues at Reykjavík Excursions. Their bus stops at Hvolsvöllur for about 5,5 hours to wait for the first Þórsmörk bus. The bus leaves Hvolsvöllur at 17:50 with passengers going from both Skógar and Þórsmörk to Reykjavík.

You can take the public bus from Skógar and only purchase a one way ticket to Landmannalaugar or Þórsmörk.

If you go onto www.bus.is and put your destinations in your search engine WITHOUT changing the time you will get a map that shows the way bus #51 goes.
